Ding Dong! October 2025

Author: Rosie Johns

Spooky season has brought us far more treats than tricks at Front Door. This past month’s highlights include work with Kensington Palace, Halloween PR campaign successes, charity events, and so much more.

And besides our lovely client news, we have exciting updates on the Front Door side too – with a new member of staff having joined our team, as well as Beth’s return from maternity leave!

Let’s dive into what’s been happening this October.

Say hello to Alex

We are beyond excited to announce that the Front Door team has grown with the addition of Alex McCormick. Alex is an expert in all things PR and linkbuilding, and has already settled into the swing of things. We’re making excellent use of his writing talent for clients such as Go.Compare and MyVoucherCodes. Welcome to the team, Alex!

A Royal Day Out

This past month, we had the honour of working with Kensington Palace around the launch of the National Suicide Prevention Network, set up by Prince William’s Royal Foundation.

Our client 2Wish is one of the Network’s chosen charities and 2Wish’s CEO, Rhian Mannings, welcomed Prince William into her home in Miskin to talk about why she set the charity up, following the devastating loss of her son George and husband Paul. Coverage was achieved in more than 600 outlets, and Rhian appeared live on BBC Breakfast, ITV’s This Morning, Sky, GB News, Radio Five Live, plus more.

Out of Office

The FD team attended a range of fabulous events in October. At the beginning of the month, Rubie, Lynsey and Francesca went to a charity Bingo Lingo event arranged by our client Cambria. Organised to raise money for children’s charity Tŷ Hafan, the night out in Depot Cardiff was excellent fun for FD and our guests as well.

Elsewhere this month, Rubie attended the final event of the 2025 FinTech Foundry, the Demo Day, to hear all about the startups within the Welsh fintech ecosystem and their plans for the future.

Kath and Rubie also attended another Fintech Wales event – the October Networking Breakfast over at Matthews House in Swansea. They learnt all about the work the project does to support the local community by providing unconditional hospitality for some of the most vulnerable people in Swansea.

Finally, Francesca attended the grand opening of Bryn-Tirion – Orbis’ brand new four-bedroom specialist home in Bridgend, which caters for young adults with Autism and learning disabilities.

Frightfully good coverage

We released a Halloween-themed campaign for MyVoucherCodes, delving into how much money people spend on their costumes, food and decorations. The story was picked up by 53 publications, including The Independent.

Elsewhere, news of Acquis’ three new US business development appointments featured in Leasing Life, Yahoo Finance and many others.

SD Team also received a flurry of coverage for their support of the Caldicot Men’s Choir. SD donated its services to help support the choir’s recent refurbishment to their purpose-built hall which they use for social functions, concerts, and rehearsal nights. SD sealed the skirting boards of the hall and bar area to help prevent water and liquid ingress when cleaning. The good-news story was picked up by News from Wales, Builder Master and others.

Foodie News

We were chuffed to be the ones to share the news that the award-winning Thomas by Tom Simmons restaurant is becoming something exciting and new next year. Thomas the Brasserie will open in January after a refurbishment and redesign at the Pontcanna venue, with a focus on high-quality seasonal dishes and affordability. The tantalising story was picked up by loads of regional news, including Wales Online and Cardiff Life, as well as culinary outlets such as Restaurant.

Beth’s Back

Closing out the month, we celebrated the return of Beth, who we have missed greatly during her maternity leave. Beth’s expertise lies in all things digital – whether that’s PPC or on-site content – and she will be stepping back into her role as Head of Digital. We are very much looking forward to having her back in the office.
