Ding Dong! It’s the March 2026 round-up

Author: Beth Rees

March flew by in a whirlwind of launches, data-led campaigns, trips and a lot of coverage – from health and wellbeing to fintech, business leadership and consumer finance. So before we blink and April disappears too, here’s a look back at some of the highlights from across Front Door HQ last month.

Making West Wales more active

We’ll kick off with a brilliant launch for Activate West Wales, which officially got up and running in March. Bringing together partners from health, education, sport, community organisations and local government, the new regional body is focused on improving access to physical activity for people of all ages and backgrounds across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

The launch event, held at Llanddarog Community Hall in Carmarthenshire, brought together nearly 100 partners and provided a real call to arms for organisations wanting to make a difference. The State of the Region report, presented by Chair Dr Sue Barnes, sparked important conversations around activity levels, health inequality and the urgent need for change.

The story landed very well, with Front Door Kath heading to Carmarthen to support broadcast coverage on ITV Wales, plus strong regional and local media pick-up including Tenby Today, Pembrokeshire Herald, Pure West Radio, Wales247 and Swansea Bay News. Exactly the kind of coverage needed to make sure this important message reaches the communities it’s designed to support.

A big month for Mrs Buckét

March also marked an exciting chapter for Mrs Buckét, with news of senior leadership changes including Rachael Flanagan stepping into the role of CEO.

The announcement secured coverage across 16 trade and regional titles, including Business News Wales, South Wales Argus, The Clean Zine, MSN, Facilitate Magazine and a whole host of sector publications.

FinTech Wales on the big stage

It was another strong month for FinTech Wales, beginning with the organisation opening the London Stock Exchange in celebration of St David’s Day – a proud moment showcasing Welsh excellence and female leadership in financial services. Front Door Rubie went along to celebrate the moment too and ensure all was press ready!

The story secured coverage across Insider Media and Business News Wales alongside further press celebrating FinTech Wales reaching 200 members as seen in Wales 247 – a major milestone for the sector. We also supported commentary from the wonderful Sarah Jones, around the continued growth of fintech businesses outside of London, responding to a query from TechRound.

Funding success for DataWollet

It was a standout month for fintech DataWollet, which announced the successful close of a £1.3m pre‑seed investment round.

The funding news gained traction across the UK fintech and business press, with coverage in Finextra, BusinessCloud and  Business News Wales to name a few. A brilliant result for the team, and a story that resonated far beyond Wales thanks to its focus on innovation, inclusion and growth.

IE Hub’s data hits home

This month we re-angled a story from IE Hub which looked at how much debt Brits got into over Christmas. The story initially ran in January but the data also revealed that many households would only just be clearing their Christmas debt in the weeks ahead.

What might sound like an all too familiar story found a fresh angle with journalists, resulting in around 40 pieces of coverage across national, regional and personal finance titles,  including Yahoo Finance, MSN and The Independent.

Go.Compare everywhere!

And finally, it wouldn’t be a Ding Dong without some lovely Go.Compare coverage.

With travel disruption and energy prices in the spotlight, alongside our general campaigns the press office was very busy for Go.Compare this month. Coverage ranged from advice on making the most of lighter days at home (The Independent) to clear explanations of why the energy price cap changed on April 1st (read here). Plus, practical guidance for holidaymakers on how to protect their money before they travel, which secured 80+ pieces of coverage with links to the very useful vaccine checker mention as seen in the Wisbech Standard.

While we sadly can’t share the full 200+ pieces of coverage, it was another reminder of just how valuable trusted expert voices are when the news agenda is moving fast.

All in all, a packed March across health, fintech, business and consumer finance, and exactly the kind of month that reminds us why we love what we do.

Now… onto April.
