Ding Dong! September 2025

1 1
Author: Rosie Johns

September saw the arrival of Autumn – as well as being a particularly awards-tastic month, with Front Door attending not one but two awards ceremonies. The team has also been busy with some other stand-out events, plus PR and client updates. So, let’s hear all about it.

Day at the races

We were thrilled to kick off September with a trip to Chepstow racecourse. Joined by some lovely clients and industry contacts, we had a great day regardless of how lucky our bets turned out to be!

Hitting the red carpet

Another event that took place in September was the Child of Wales Awards 2025. The glamorous and star-studded awards ceremony – which celebrates the inspirational achievements of remarkable young people in Wales – returned for the fourth time to Swansea Arena on Friday, September 12th 2025.

Hosted by BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones, the Child of Wales Awards 2025 welcomed celebrities including actress Melanie Walters, Love Island’s Emily Moran, Nicole Samuel and Liam Reardon, The Traitors star Andrew Jenkins, rugby legends Sir Gareth Edwards and Gareth Thomas, plus many more.

Our Head of PR, Lisa Blake, returned for her fourth year managing the awards’ PR – though her first as part of the Front Door team. We managed to facilitate two pieces of ITV coverage – including a heartfelt interview with the Hall family, who won the Courageous Family award. There was also pickup from Heno, plus coverage from a number of outlets including Business News Wales, Wales 247, Greatest Hits Radio and GTFM Radio.

Behind the camera

September was a bumper month for broadcast and radio. We were asked to help with the PR of S4C’s series 2 of Cyfrinachau’r Llyfrgell this past month, and achieved 24 pieces of coverage, including Mark Drakeford on Heno, Sian Phillips on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru and Scott Quinnell on BBC Radio Wales.

Additionally, we had not one but two client interviews on ITV. With September being back-to-school time, Alex from MyVoucherCodes went on ITV Wales at Six Live to talk about the cost of school uniforms and how Brits can save – coming on the back of the 330+ pieces of coverage already received for the back to school campaign this summer.

ITV also spoke to Monmouthshire Building Society about the wave of bank branch closures across the UK, and the building society’s commitment to keeping theirs open.

And last but certainly not least, we helped Lottoland launch their first broadcast campaign, working with Charlotte from the Traitors. The ‘Catching a Liar’ campaign included Lottoland’s recent research about spotting liars and the signs to look out for. Charlotte spoke on 15 radio stations including BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Surrey and Sussex, and BFBS with a total audience reach of nearly 8 million!

FinTech winners

There was also a lot going on with FinTech Wales in September. The FinTech Wales Awards took place on 5th September, with Front Door in attendance to show our support for not one or two, but THREE shortlisted clients – IE Hub, Go.Compare and Monmouthshire Building Society. We were thrilled to see Go.Compare win Fintech Company of the Year, plus Team of the Year for their PCW team.

Additionally, Lyns and Rubie attended Fintech Wales’ 100th event, with guests including Henry Engelhardt, Louise O’Shea, Scott Jones, Sarah Jones, and Sam McGurk – and with Sarah Jones officially announced as the new CEO.

Client news

We had some other exciting client updates across the month – with Acquis announcing a new office in Paris (the opening of which scored some lovely coverage, including this piece in Leasing Life).

Francesca also took a trip out of the office for the opening of Orbis’ new home in Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taff. Called Ty Enfys, it consists of three bedrooms and two flats and caters to the needs of adults with autism or learning difficulties. The news of the new home was picked up by a number of outlets, including Welsh Business News and The Rhondda Herald.

The show goes on

Finally, we have to mention our fabulous new client – Mark Jermin. We’re so excited to be working with the team, who have nurtured such talent such as Evie Templeton (recent star of Wednesday Season 2) and Adam Bartlett (who played the young Michael Jackson on the West End), among many others.

With lots more happening besides these highlights, September has been one heck of a month. And now we’ll see what Autumn brings!
