Meet Francesca Davies-Ruocco!

We’ve welcomed a new face to Front Door and she’s well overdue an introduction, having already hit the ground running with a number of successful campaigns for our lovely clients!
Meet Francesca Davies-Ruocco, our resident social media guru and sports aficionado who gives us an insight into what her time with FD Comms has been like and what she’s looking forward to in the world of PR and marketing.
How I got into PR…
I’ve always been passionate about sport, having played tennis since the age of nine, but I knew I was never good enough to play it at a professional level, so the next best thing for me would be to talk about sport. Once I completed my BA Hons in Sports Journalism at The University of Central Lancashire, I still wanted to continue studying and after speaking to my tutor, he suggested doing a Masters in PR and Marketing.

Following my graduation, I moved back to Cardiff where I started out my career in the hospitality industry, as a Marketing Manager for numerous bars and clubs in the area.
I then joined a specialist sports PR agency where I was Digital and Social Media Executive/Reporter, which was great as I was able to use both of my degrees in this job. During this role, I created strategic social media and marketing campaigns and delivered key events for numerous clients including Porsche, the International Association of Athletics Federations and Disability Sport Wales.

After working within PR agencies for five years, I joined the wonderful Front Door team at the end of July 2023 and from my first day, I knew I was going to love it here! They were so welcoming and lovely, and I settled in really quickly. I love the team and the location of the office – right across from Pontcanna Fields so it’s perfect for a walk during lunch.
I love that Front Door has given me the opportunity to work on a range of different roles to find where my strengths are and where I fit into the agency. But more than the team, I love the range of clients I work on from garden centres to charities, it’s brilliant!
I am looking forward to…
So much at Front Door! I’m looking forward to developing my skills and to continue building relationships with our clients. I really enjoy creating social media campaigns and it’s rewarding to see how social media can amplify a brand’s message and create meaningful connections with followers. Social media platforms are constantly evolving so it will be exciting to explore new strategies and implement these into our client’s campaigns in the future.
Outside of work…
You’ll find me playing tennis or watching sport! I’ve been a member of Mackintosh tennis club for nearly 23 years where I am currently the ladies first team captain. I also love watching sport, regularly attending Welsh football matches and Welsh rugby matches and have been to the Euros and Rugby World Cup to support the teams all over the world.
