Green Man Festival

Front Door Communications has become an integral part of the Green Man team since it first began working with organisers in 2018, with the event selling out every year since.

The Client

Green Man Festival is one of the last few remaining large independent UK festivals in the UK, and the only one with a woman taking controlling ownership. Held in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Green Man brings around 25,000 visitors together every August to soak up its own unique blend of comedy, music, literature and theatre performances, as well as an unrivalled selection of independent Welsh food and beverages.

In 2023, Green Man became the first festival in Wales to be awarded the ‘Attitude is Everything’ Gold charter in recognition of its dedication to improving access to music for those with learning needs and disabilities, and also became the first festival in the UK to sell-out without releasing a line-up announcement ahead of its outing in 2024.

The Work

From the BBC to Wales Online, ITV and S4C, Front Door is responsible for driving and facilitating the curation of all pre-event and on-site coverage across regional media outlets reporting on the festival each year. The Front Door team also attends throughout the course of each event as a point of contact for Welsh media contacts within the press tent too.

Year-round, we also work with the Green Man Trust, the charitable arm of the festival
established in 2013 which extends the festival's mission to champion and support the arts, science and local communities, year-round. Here, Front Door assists the Trust in spreading the word about the £1.25 million they have raised for good causes and the 160 grants they have issued to inspire positive change in Welsh communities since it was founded too.
