Our Work

We help Orbis Education and Care tell the inspirational stories of its pupils, residents, and staff. From press releases about new appointments and truly inspiring stories about children and young adults with autism, we help spotlight some of Orbis’ individuals in both the local and sector press. Some of the campaigns we have recently worked on include:

Danielle Coakley appointed Head of Education at Ty Bronllys – just months after her own autism diagnosis

We helped tell the story of Danielle, from Pontypridd, who recently received her own autism diagnosis, which she believes gives her a unique understanding of the needs of the children and young people at Ty Bronllys.

Danielle says being autistic herself allows her to have a distinctive insight into supporting children and adults with complex needs associated with autism.

Orbis Education and Care’s Ben Taplin named Welsh Care Home Worker of the Year

We also told the story of Ben Taplin, who is a Team Leader Orbis Education and Care, and was awarded the Welsh Care Home Worker of the Year award at the regional heats of the British Care Awards.

Ben, 36, has been working at Ty Bronllys for four years after he moved back to Wales from Dubai with his wife Lisa. The dad-of-one became Team Leader a year ago and since then has focused on improving the environment for both the young people and staff.

He single-handedly transformed an unused room into a sensory room where young people can relax and unwind and planted trees and flowers to bring more wildlife to the garden and create biodiversity. He also created systems for the medication room and worked to build a close relationship with the local pharmacy.
