Ding Dong! August 2025
August may be the month of out-of-office replies, but at Front Door we’ve been busier than ever. From welcoming global giants into Wales, to fielding journalists at one of the UK’s most beloved festivals, one thing this month proved is that our clients know how to grab headlines.
So, grab a cuppa and take a look at what kept us on our toes this August.
Welsh FinTech wins
There was a big win for the Welsh FinTech community this month as FinTech Wales welcomed global player, Mastercard, as their newest partner. The news cements Wales as a serious contender in the FinTech space and has received attention far and wide, with coverage in Business in Wales, Wales247, Insider Media, The Fintech Times and Financial IT. A fantastic example showcasing the momentum building across Wales’ tech sector.
Festival season
Is it even August if there’s no Green Man? The mountains came alive and for another year running, we were there to welcome a brilliant line-up of broadcast teams and print journalists. Front Door’s Francesca, Rubie, Kath, Rosie and intern Daisy had extra hands on deck, with Kath’s son Iwan and Rubie’s sister Loretta also pitching in. From national TV to local mags, the press presence was as diverse as the festival itself.
Yes, it was hectic. Yes, we ran mostly on caffeine and sheer adrenaline in the beating sun. But when the coverage starts rolling in, it’s all worth it. And this year with an audience of over 9 million, you just can’t beat it.
Key highlights from this year’s festival included a fantastic feature on ITV’s backstage as well as glowing pieces in WalesOnline, showcasing the festival’s magic from every angle. Music and media, a classic August duo.
Hitting the big leagues
Over with Lottoland, its latest Irish campaign was timed to perfection on the very day the Premier League kicked off, with a nationwide poll asking who the greatest Irish Premier League footballer is of all time.
The campaign scored big, securing coverage in the Irish Sun, Irish Mirror and Irish Independent, with plenty of lively debate on social media too. And because football arguments don’t stop at the Irish border, the story was also picked up by the Mirror and Express in the UK.
New month, new clients
This month marked the start of our work with Slam Media on the launch of Series 2 of Cyfrinachau’r Llyfrgell (Best Kept Secrets), which we’re thrilled to be involved with.
The new season begins on 16th September at 9pm on S4C, and once again sees well-known Welsh personalities embark on deeply personal journeys through the archives of the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. Blending genealogy, history, and storytelling, the programme uncovers remarkable family stories and hidden truths. Your autumn comfort show is sorted as the series will also be available on and has gained coverage on South Wales Argus.
As we head into the final quarter of the year, we’re gearing up for more new clients, campaigns and plenty of exciting projects. There’s much more to come, so keep an eye out for our updates.

PR retainer vs ad hoc campaigns: why commitment is key
